The Institute for Research and Technology-Thessaly (I.RE.TE.TH.) is one of the Institutes of the Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas (C.E.R.T.H.), a legal, non-profit entity organized under the auspices of the General Secretariat for research and Technology (G.S.R.T.) of the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.

The Institute’s main mission is to conduct basic and applied technological research that leads to new products and services with industrial, economic and social impact and supports the R&D needs of local, national and European industrial and government institutions.

I.RE.TE.TH. in Thessaly:
• Enhances the industrial and entrepreneurial dynamics of the region’s enterprises and promotes the creation of new companies based on the knowledge economy.
• Establishes a service to the industry, facilitating its connection to a) the research and technological activities of the Sectors of I.RE.TE.TH. and b) the spin-off in specialized technological sectors.
• Facilitates primary production, as well as its evolvement in the framework of the new agricultural policy.
• Strengthens higher education in the region by offering complimentary infrastructure, motivating the current scientific force and attracting new scientists.

I.RE.TE.TH.’s organization includes four Sectors and its activities are located in all four Regional Units of Thessaly Region: Agrotechnology, Mechatronics, Kinesiology and Biomedicine.
